Hiddink leaves Turkey post

The Turkish Football Federation have announced they have parted company with national team coach Guus Hiddink.

The Dutchman was appointed in August 2010 with the aim of qualifying for Euro 2012 but failed in his objective, after Croatia proved to be too much of an obstacle in the playoffs with a 3-0 aggregate win.

After negotiations between Guus Hiddink and the Turkish Football Federation s board of directors, an agreement has been reached to terminate Guus Hiddink s contract by mutual consent, a statement on the official TFF website read on Wednesday.

We would like to thank Guus Hiddink for his work with Turkey and wish him all the best for the future.

Hiddink, 65, coached Netherlands, South Korea, Australia and Russia before taking the reigns at Turkey.

At club level, he has been at the helm of PSV, Fenerbahce, Valencia, Real Madrid and Chelsea, winning the English FA Cup at the latter as a caretaker coach in 2009.
